How much people did people earn?

If you were rich you had to be careful not to go too near to the poor part of town!  Rich children were sometimes captured by poor children, who would steal their clothes and leave them going home very embarrassed in their underwear!


Victorian fact:

The 'Baseball ground' opened in Derby.  It was built for one of eight baseball teams in a Victorian baseball league, but was eventually used by Derby County football club until they changed stadiums in 1997.

Queen Victoria's age and reign:

Queen Victoria was 71 years old on the 24th May and had been Queen for 53 years.

The world's first electric underground railway passes under the River Thames, linking the City of London and Stockwell.
