The Statue of Liberty is given to America by France. It represents Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, and holds a tablet inscribed with the date of American independence on 4th July, 1776.

Karl Benz patents the first motor car.  It has three wheels and is called the ‘Benz Patent-Motorwagen.’
