Famous events:

A farm worker earned 72p a week, which was 14 shillings and 5 pence in Victorian money.

How much people did people earn?

The football association is created in a London pub, by a group of men who agree on a set of rules to be followed by universities and colleges who play the game.

Invention:

Queen Victoria reigned for so long that almost every part of British life changed.  For example, her first picture as a young Queen was painted, but her last picture before she died was a photograph.

 

 

Victorian fact:

The world's first underground railway is opened in London. It eventually gets the name ‘The Tube’ and uses gas-lit wooden carriages hauled by steam locomotives.
