Famous events:

A housekeeper earned 70p a week, which was 14 shillings and 1 pence in Victorian money.

How much people did people earn?

Prince Albert died of typhoid fever on 14th December 1861, and for the rest of her life Queen Victoria had his clothes laid out each morning and wore black every day to remember him.

Invention:

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert had 9 children and 42 grandchildren.

 

 

Victorian fact:

The washing machine is invented, called a "compound rotary washing machine, with rollers for wringing or mangling" by Richard Lansdale of Pendleton, but many other simpler designs were already in use.
