How much people did people earn?

The British government takes official control of the country of India from the British East India company. 

Invention:

There were seven assasination attempts on Queen Victoria during her lifetime.  Many of them were when she was shot at with pistols or rifles, but it also included one time when she was hit over the head with a walking stick!

Isambard Kingdom Brunel launches the ship the SS Great Eastern, the largest ship ever built.
