How much people did people earn?

The first ever public lending library is opened in Campfield, Manchester, under the Public Libraries Act 1850.

Invention:

Queen Victoria was of German heritage and her first language was German.

Victorian fact:

The first ever flushing toilet opened in London for members of the public to use.  Until then people had to use a small cupboard with a hole in the ground filled with earth, called an 'earth closet'.

Queen Victoria was 33 years old on the 24th May and had been Queen for 15 years.  Balmoral Castle is purchased, after being leased by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert since 1848.
