How much people did people earn?

The potato famine began in Ireland, leading to one million deaths and a million others leaving the country for Britain and America.


One fifth of the nurses in the Victorian age were under the age of 15.

Victorian fact:

Samuel Morse sends the first ever 'morse code' message.  The telegraph had already been invented, but this was the first time that this special code had been used to send messages.
